Like a good Grandma, I made a quilt for my grand-dogger.
Then on to cutting up old jeans.
Maybe they'll still smell like Treat Guy and That Lady That Comes With Him.
It was so sad to cut up my favorite jeans. But it was time to let go.
I had some other clothes that I had purchased to make some upcycled bags before I lost interest in that project. Used the black twill for the front, and sliced up some suit jackets for a pieced back.
Since there wouldn't be any batting, I used 1/2 inch seams and top stitched the seams as I went.
After hours of slicing and piecing, I realized that I wasn't going to have enough for a back. I went to the garage stash of fabric and found a bin that had about 10 yards of heavy duty denim I had purchased decades ago for a slip cover project and pillows. (I did cover 1 chair but then found pre-made denim pillows that seemed a simpler solution.). The solid denim was just the right size for the back. And now this strip pieced section will become a second Doggo gift for my favorite Huskeys.
