Book Shelf Quilt-along

I started collecting fabrics for a bookcase quilt for a friend of mine a couple years ago.  I lost momentum and got distracted by other things.  Meanwhile, there's been a flurry of posts among my quilter friends about interest in this type of quilt.   I've decided to get back to this project and invite others to join me.  This page will collect my posts on each step.  I hope you'll join me and share updates.

There are a number of patterns available for people who want exact directions.  I will be taking a different approach.  I am going to go through steps of making a super personalized bookshelf that tells the story of the maker or recipient of the quilt.  It'll be like a recipe.  I'll give you the ingredients and steps, but you have to decide how to adapt it to your taste.

You can see my original motivation quilts on this post, and go to pintrest for more ideas.
